The teaser of Telugu superstar Prabhas’ most-anticipated movie Adipurush is ultimately out and it has received mixed reactions on social media, such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube with a section of the internet dubbing the VFX of the film as “cartoon-ish” and “dispiriting”. The teaser of Om Raut’s directorial was officially unveiled in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, at a marquee event in the presence of their cast and crew starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, producer Bhushan Kumar, and Raut. Adipurush, also starring Saif Ali Khan, will be released on January 12, 2023.

‘Disappointing Adipurush Teaser Upsets All, Netizens Joke ‘Saif Playing Ravana or Khilji?’

Adipurush Teaser has left netizens disappointed and upset. Om Raut’s directorial, which will present Prabhas and Saif as Lord Ram and Ravana, is now getting trolled on social media for its ‘poor VFX’.

What has disappointed the most is Saif’s look as Ravana. With short hair and beard, netizens are now questioning if the actor will be playing Ravana or Alauddin Khilji in the film. fool around about the same, one of the social media users wrote, “I mean seriously!!! Are they going to change the name of Ravan to Rizwan ?? Who is styling his beard?? Javid Habib??” Netizens also question the portrayal of Ravana’s Pushpak Viman in the teaser.

The hair-brained CGI of the Adipurush Teaser leaves fans with contemporary admiration for Brahmastra

The first teaser of Adipurush was released to mixed reactions. While there was much admiration for Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, many were rather puzzled by the cartoon-like CGI. Twitter turned into a meme-fest and also indicated similarities between Marvel’s Avengers, Game of Thrones, and several other popular Hollywood franchises. One wrote, sharing stills from GoT and Adipurush, “COPIED GAME OF THRONES SHAMELESSLY.”

Others referred to Brahmastra’s VFX and said it was definitely worthier of the two. They wrote, “After watching the teaser of #Adipurush, my respect has increased for Ayan Mukerji and the team. The VFX of this movie is pre-eminent. As a Bollywood fan, you must feel proud.” Another mentioned, “Ayan dedicated years learning the craft of VFX & took his time no matter the delays to give the Indian audience a top-notch quality visual experience rather than a half baked product like #Adipurush #Brahmastra #AdipurushTeaser.” 

One user mentioned that they were confused and wondered whether Adipurush was actually an animation film. “What was that VFX, what in hell is this?”  There were a few who tried defending the film and explained that VFX was still pending. One wrote, “People who r questioning #Adipurush VFX still lot of work pending more than 3 months to release, So don’t worry. At the time of trailer release, u will find a far better product. Don’t come to a conclusion, It’s just a teaser VFX work is still going on.”

Some even compared the film’s teaser to the Ramayan series of the 80s. One wrote, “Even this 30-year-old animated #Ramayan looks fresher than the animated #Adipurush lmao.” Another added, “Requesting everyone to watch this movie instead of #Adipurush even Japanese people created better Ramayan than om Raut Adipurush is just the biggest scam, anime >>>>cartoon Adipurush #OmRaut.” The tweet is referring to ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, made by Koichi Sasaki, Yugo Sako, and Ram Mohan.

ADIPURUSH: Things You Should Know About

In Adipurush, Prabhas appears as Raghava, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Sunny Singh as Lakshmana. The film’s teaser was unveiled on the banks of the Sarayu river in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Adipurush is backed by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-series, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles.

Adipurush will release in theatres on January 12, 2023, in IMAX and 3D. Ahead of the teaser release, Prabhas shared in a statement, “Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character from our epic, especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film.” Prabhas was last seen in Radhe Shyam, which did not work at the box office. Besides Adipurush, he also has Salaar and a film with Deepika Padukone.
