IPL retention 2023 time: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises on Tuesday, November 15 announced their full list (ipl retention 2023 all team) of retained and released players after the deadline for retention and trading ended. The list of retained and released players for IPL 2023 was a mix of obvious choices and surprise omissions.


Franchises were active over the last few days, making good use of the trading window. The teams were asked to submit their full list of retained players ahead of the mini-auction, scheduled for December, before 5 pm IST on November 15. Each team will have an additional Rs 5 crore apart from their Rs 90 crore salary cap for the auction, which will reportedly be held on December 16 in Kochi.

Former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad dropped the captaincy bombshell ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2023 as the former champions released captain Kane Williamson on retention day. New Zealand skipper Williamson was released by SRH while Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) parted ways with former skipper Mayank Agarwal in the lead-up to the mini-auction of the cash-rich league on Tuesday.

Kolkata Knight Riders were the busiest in the trading window, securing the services of India all-rounder Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals and New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson and Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz from defending champions Gujarat Titans. KKR also traded Aman Khan to Delhi Capitals.

Before Mumbai Indians finalized their player retention list for the 2023 season of the cash-rich league, veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League. Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur was traded to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from Delhi Capitals (DC) while England wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings opted to pull out of the IPL 2023. Citing a busy international schedule, Australian skipper Pat Cummins has also opted out of featuring in the lucrative tournament.
