Rishabh Pant accident near Haridwar: The IPL franchise of India’s Test wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has confirmed the 25-year-old has been injured in a serious car accident. Pant crashed between Mangalaur and Nursan, close to his hometown of Roorkee in the northern state of Uttarakhand.

“Pant sustained injuries on his forehead, a hand, and right knee. However, he is conscious and able to talk,” local police superintendent Swapn Kishor Singh is quoted as saying in a report by The Times of India. “The car he was driving was completely burnt. He is lucky to survive the severe accident”.

The same report indicates the cricketer was driving alone in his Mercedes GLE when it hit the divider railings of the Delhi-Haridwar highway around 5.30 am, with the officer adding Pant was pulled from the wreckage and “rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to a major hospital in Dehradun”.

Images of the accident site, and the cricketer in the hospital, have been shared widely on social media.

After first being admitted to a private hospital in Roorkee, Pant was later transferred to a hospital in Dehradun. He reportedly injured his head and suffered ligament damage to his right ankle.

Rishabh Pant accident: Speaking to the media, Dr. Dehradun’s Medical Director of Max’s Hospital, Ashish Yagnik, said the cricketer did not appear to have any serious injuries and was in stable condition. and a team of doctors is looking after him. Only after some tests can we say more. For now, he is stable and not much to worry about. ‘ said Yagnik.

“Based on what the medical team has been talking to him about and what he told us about his injury during his examination. At first glance, no major injuries were found. He is being treated by an orthopedic and plastic surgeon,” Yagnik said, adding that the hospital will soon issue a health report.

Pant had recently returned from Bangladesh after he played 2 Test matches there for India, which the national team won 2-0. Much to the relief of Indian cricket lovers and those around the world, NCA director and former Indian cricketer tweeted a health update on Pant, saying that the cricketer is out of danger while he also wished the Delhi-born player a speedy recovery.
He was recently selected by Guardian cricket writers for their team in 2022.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said his government will bear the entire expense of Pant’s treatment.

Dhami spoke to officials to get an update on the cricketer’s condition and asked them to make all arrangements for his treatment. Arrangements for an air ambulance should also be made if required, he said.
