Best Sci-Fi Game for Nintendo Switch
At the Indie World Showcase in November 2023, they shared exciting news about cool indie games heading to the Nintendo Switch next year. And guess what? Outer Wilds, a super awesome sci-fi game where you explore a solar system with time loops, is dropping on the Nintendo Switch next month! Get ready for some serious gaming fun!
In 2021, they talked about bringing Outer Wilds to Nintendo Switch, hoping it’d be out by summer. But that didn’t happen. We didn’t hear much until Annapurna Interactive, the game’s publisher, mentioned it in one of their own shows. In the Indie World Showcase, they showed how the game works on the Switch – exploring space with cool physics. Now, it’s called Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition and includes extra stuff. You can download it on December 7. If you prefer a physical copy, that’s coming next year.
Besides Outer Wilds, they’re bringing some cool indie games like Core Keeper, Moonstone Island, Planet of Lana, Heavenly Bodies, and Backpack Hero to Nintendo Switch. And guess what? They’re finishing up and releasing Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, an old Game Boy Advance game, just for Nintendo Switch!

The Indie World Showcase revealed some cool new games like On Your Tail, a card-based investigation game, and The Star Name Eos, a point-and-click photography adventure. If you’re into trying something fresh, games like Howl, Backpack Hero, Enjoy the Diner, Passpartout 2: The Lost Artist, and a demo for Death Trick: Double Blind were dropped right after the showcase!
