Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT are both AI based technologies that were developed to make the lives of people easier by helping them in doing their tasks in an efficient and faster way.
They seem to be similar to each other, but they are not. So, let’s talk about them in detail and try to find out which one is better. So, let’s deep dive into these two.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is basically a chatbot developed by a company named OpenAI and was launched on 30 November 2022.
It is based on a large language model and helps users to make a conversation like humans do and solve their queries, doubts and providing them the appropriate answer to all their questions.
It uses various emerging technologies like- machine learning, deep learning, natural language understanding, etc. It uses a combination of supervised and reinforcement learning which means that it works on experiences from its past actions and also gains information from human feedback.
There was also a news that Microsoft Bing has joined hands with ChatGPT.
What is Microsoft Copilot?
Microsoft Copilot is a chatbot developed by Microsoft. It was launched as Bing Chat on 7 February 2023 as a built-in feature for Microsoft Bing and Microsoft Edge.
It is also based on large language model and uses both reinforcement learning as well as supervised learning.
It is basically designed for Microsoft 365 applications and services.
It has a primary marketing focus which is an additional feature to Microsoft 365 with an emphasis on enhancement of business productivity,
Its function is to enhance the creativity and efficiency of the users by doing the boring tasks at a very fast pace.
What is the difference between the two?
- Both the chatbots are powered by large language models but Copilot comes with GPT-4 integration for free and no subscription required while ChatGPT has a default GPT-3 integration and requires a subscription for GPT-4 language model access.
- Microsoft has made the Copilot to offer many other features like- the ability to change the mood and tone responses by “more creative”, “more precise” and “more balanced” tones while the generation of the responses while ChatGPT does not have these features.
- Copilot is specifically for coding assistance whereas ChatGPT offers a wider range of capabilities.
So, ChatGPT takes the lead here and surely is better than Microsoft CoPilot.
