Xiaomi showed off its 14 series in China last October 2023, featuring the new HyperOS interface. Now, they’ve announced the global launch date for this series, set for February 25th, just before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The top-of-the-line Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to be revealed alongside the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro.
Release Date and Time
The Xiaomi 14 Series launch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is scheduled for February 25th, kicking off at 3 PM CET (7:30 PM IST). Xiaomi will provide a live stream of the event, allowing viewers worldwide to tune in and witness the launch of their latest devices. But it’s not clear yet if the rumored Xiaomi 14 Ultra will also be released worldwide at that time.
Pricing
In China, consumers can get their hands on the Xiaomi 14 Pro for a starting price of CNY 4,999, which includes the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Alternatively, the base model of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is available at a more affordable price point of CNY 3,999.
Camera Features for Both Variants
The Xiaomi 14 Pro is rumored to boast an impressive camera setup with three lenses on the back, all branded by Leica. These lenses could include a 50-megapixel main camera for capturing detailed photos, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens for zooming in on distant subjects, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens for fitting more into each shot.
Additionally, the front-facing camera, which could sport a 32-megapixel sensor, is expected to deliver sharp and clear selfies. It’s expected that the standard Xiaomi 14 will offer similar camera capabilities, ensuring users can capture stunning photos and videos regardless of the model they choose.
“The phone delivers images beyond human perception and touches the hearts of millions,” said Xiaomi. “Together with Leica, we start a new era of mobile photography,” it added.
Specifications of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro
The global versions of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are expected to be quite similar to the ones sold in China. The Pro model might have a big 6.73-inch 2K LTPO display and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with up to 16GB of RAM and storage that can go up to 1TB.
The base model might have a slightly smaller 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display. For battery life, the Pro version might have a 4,880mAh battery with fast charging, while the regular one might come with a bit smaller 4,610mAh battery.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra Expected Features
The rumored Xiaomi 14 Ultra, spotted on Geekbench, sounds promising with its potential features. If the leaks are accurate, this phone could run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and boast up to 16GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance for various tasks. Running on the latest Android 14-based HyperOS, users might enjoy enhanced functionality and user experience.
When it comes to the display, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra might offer a stunning 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED screen with a high 120Hz refresh rate, making everything look incredibly smooth and vibrant. The inclusion of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor could provide convenient and secure access to the device.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s camera setup appears to be quite impressive, featuring a quad rear camera system. Among these cameras, the 50-megapixel primary sensor could deliver sharp and detailed photos, promising excellent photography experiences for users.
