WhatsApp, under Meta’s ownership, has enhanced its Channels feature to increase user engagement and stay competitive with other messaging applications. This update enables users to share channel posts directly in their status updates, introducing a fresh method for interacting with content on the platform.
What’s New with the Update?
WhatsApp has rolled out some handy updates to improve your experience. One of the coolest additions is the ability to share posts directly in your status updates. This means you can quickly share what’s happening in your life or what you find interesting with your friends. Whether it’s a funny meme, an exciting announcement, or a cool photo, you can now easily share it in your status.
This feature has been thoroughly tested and is now available for both Android and iOS users to enjoy. So go ahead, spice up your status, and keep your friends updated with the latest happenings.
How to use the Share Channel Posts Feature?
Here are the steps to share a Channel update on the Status page:
- Access WhatsApp on your Android device.
- Locate the post you want to share on the Channel update.
- Long-press the post to select it.
- Tap on the right-facing arrow icon that appears.
- This action will take you to the Forward to the screen.
- Look for the option labeled “Status” among the list of frequently contacted people and recent chats.
- Tap on “Status” to share the post on your Status page.
Availability Details
Users are used to sharing channel posts in chats, but now they can also share them in status updates. The channel announced this feature a few days ago, even though some users might have already been using it before the announcement.
WhatsApp Web Integration
Right now, you can use this feature on your phone, but people are looking forward to having it on the Web too. On WhatsApp Web, you can only share channel posts with groups or contacts. But things might change in the future with updates.
WhatsApp’s Favourite Contacts Feature
Additionally, WhatsApp is currently working on a new feature specifically for iPhone users. This feature will allow users to select their favorite contacts, making it quicker and simpler to place calls to them. The aim is to enhance the calling experience by providing a convenient shortcut directly from the calls tab. So, instead of scrolling through all contacts, users can easily access their preferred contacts with just a tap, making communication more efficient and user-friendly.
