Microsoft is integrating its powerful AI chatbot, Copilot, across various apps and services like Office, Edge, and Windows. However, capturing a screenshot and consulting Copilot can be a bit cumbersome, involving multiple steps and taking some time.
Copilot in Windows is now in preview, meaning it’s still a work in progress. We’re trying out new ideas and methods based on your feedback. The preview release is initially available in select global markets with plans to expand over time. Currently, it’s in North America and parts of Asia and South America.
At Microsoft, we prioritize principles like responsible AI and commit to data privacy and security. Our goal is to help customers use AI products responsibly, and we value building trust through transparency. If you want to know more about how to use it in Windows to handle your data, you can check out the details in ‘Copilot in Windows‘: Your data and privacy.
Chatting with Copilot in Windows
You can ask Copilot in Windows various questions, from simple to complex. For example, if you plan to call your family in Cyprus, you can quickly check the local time to avoid waking them up at odd hours. Need help planning a trip to visit them in Cyprus? Ask it to find flights and accommodations for a mid-winter break. When you’re typing in the chat, It suggests words to make chatting easier—just hit tab to accept the suggestions. To begin a new chat, use the ‘New Topic‘ button to clear your previous conversation.
Copilot in Windows can help you be more efficient
Copilot in Windows lets you do everyday tasks and adjust settings in Windows easily. You can switch your Windows theme between light and dark mode, activate the ‘do not disturb‘ mode, or connect bluetooth devices. It also helps you open apps, arrange your app windows, and more!
Remember…
Copilot chat uses GPT, a new AI system from OpenAI that generates text based on prompts. Since GPT is a new system, it might produce content that surprises you. If you come across anything unexpected or offensive, please provide feedback so we can improve it.
Keep in mind that the content may have inaccuracies or sensitive material since it relies on AI drawing information from the internet. It’s important to review and confirm the information it generates. Asking similar questions may lead to the same content being generated.
